Job Description Job Description Position Summary This position will perform a wide variety of preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs on commercial kitchen equipment, dish equipment, plumbing and electrical equipment on board mobile units, i.e. kitchen trailer. The daily tasks include troubleshooting and diagnosing problems to equipment or systems located on the asset trailers, repairing various items of mechanical, plumbing, or electrical nature, and assessing the assets for needed maintenance. This position will utilize several trade skills such as commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, roofing, welding, heating and cooling. (Frequent Travel) Key Responsibilities - Perform general maintenance, installation, repairs, and service on commercial kitchen equipment, dishwash machines, walk in or counter coolers, water heaters, plumbing and electrical systems - Perform equipment and systems inspections, prepares and submits reports of conditions and recommend actions to be taken - Act as point of contact for trucks, trailers as they deliver or pick up assets from the yard, i.e. escort drivers, load or unload trailers, manipulate trailers or assets in the yard to park incoming trailers - Responds to service requests with little or no supervision - Communicate with team leaders throughout the day via messaging and verbally to provide status updates - Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner - Effectively work with hand/power tools, ladders, pallet jacks, electronic tools - Works as a contributing member of the team to provide the best service and maximize time management - Support after-hours and weekend hours needs as required Required Skills & Qualifications - Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record - Considerable knowledge in working with commercial kitchen equipment, refrigeration, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems - Ability to push, pull heavy equipment on a regular basis - Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgement and personal initiative - Aptitude for organizing tasks, managing time, and prioritizing projects - Skill to apply principles of rational systems - Ability to utilize and interpret a variety of advisory data and information such as technical drawings, plans, specifications, and manuals - Ability to exercise independent judgement to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to problem resolution - Ability to exercise judgement, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing - Ability to work in a team environment; contribute as a team member and treat coworkers, staff, clients, and vendors with respect - Ability to build and cultivate professional relationships with internal staff and external partners - Ability to offer flexibility and adaptability Physical & Work Environment Requirements - Ability to travel to sites in and out of state as needed to help troubleshoot or repair assets - Ability to work safely in varying environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, wind, dust, and active job site environments, while maintaining compliance with safety standards and operational procedures - Occasional walking uneven terrain and site inspections - Flexibility to work extended hours during project builds and dismantles Company Description The RK Group started changing the event-dining landscape in Texas 80 years ago with fresh ingredients, innovative menus, and attention to detail in every appetizer, entrée and dessert we serve.
