Job OverviewSummary/Objective The Window/Glass Technician diagnoses and performs glass repairs on vehicles with efficiency, accuracy, and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer/factory standards.Essential FunctionsMust have at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine at commencement of employment, and complete the second shot, if applicable, within the required timeline provided by Moderna or Pfizer as a condition of continuing employment.Accurately performs the necessary steps to repair and replace auto glass components to maintain vehicle safety standardsProvides excellent customer serviceEnsures customer vehicles are kept clean during repair processInspects damage, troubleshoots, and tests vehicle to determine required or recommended repairsAccurately diagnose malfunctions or damage and perform the necessary repairs for them Select appropriate tools, safety equipment, and parts according to job requirementsInstall replacement glass in vehiclesObtain windshields or windows for specific automobile makes and models from stock and examine them for defects prior to installationReinstall all vehicle parts that may have been removed prior to glass replacement or repairMaintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organizedDocuments all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with operating proceduresSafely and professionally operate a company fleet vehicle to and from customer locations throughout the workdayFulfills all physical requirement of the jobExhibits self-motivation with organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAble to work and collaborate effectively with a team of peers as well as leadershipUnderstands the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technology changesFollows all attendance and punctuality standards with adherences to timekeeping standards; Employees are required to record the beginning and ending times of any shift, break or departure from work for personal reasonsFollows the Code of Business Ethics and ConductUnderstands and follow all work rules and procedures and follows lawful directions from SupervisorsUpholds the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreementsMaintains a professional appearance in accordance with company policyAttends pertinent training on requestAttends company meetings as requiredOther duties as assignedOther DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.Physical Demands Medium/Heavy WorkWill lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of time. This position requires the ability to push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis. This position involves repetitive motion. This position requires the ability to talk and hear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.Required Education and Experience High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Education and Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school. Three years of verifiable auto glass replacement experience. Luxury car experience preferred.Safety Sensitive PositionThe essential functions of this position require a person to work with hazardous or flammable materials; AND/OR to complete tasks in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, including without limitation the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.
