Job Description:

Summary/Objective Human Resources Director is responsible for enforcing and administering company policies, and ensure company practices are compliant with all laws and regulations affecting human resources activities. Daily operations of the HR office and recruitment. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ensure compliance with Kalahari policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Develop and direct all hourly recruitment for the Resort
Oversee interviewing, hiring and orientation procedures to maintain appropriate staffing levels with qualified individuals.
Counsel and train managers on associate relations issues, resolve associate grievances, conduct exit interviews when necessary.
Consults with Corporate HR in all high-profile Associate Relations cases as well as ALL cases including Managers and Directors.
Implement various Associate relations programs designed to maintain a pro-associate environment that ultimately limits associate turnover.
Propose, publish, and administer personnel policies and procedures;
In cooperation with Corporate HR, implement and monitor an effective associate relations program which include ensuring proper maintenance of all associate areas, a secure and safe environment, effective communication programs and recognition and appreciation programs designed to foster a positive work atmosphere.
Develop and provide periodic reports for the management team's use to communicate and examine trends in such areas as associate turnover, worker's compensation, unemployment, and associate relations activities.
Conduct wage and salary surveys to ensure company remains competitive with the market.
Ensure that all paperwork is processed in a timely manner and accurately.
Maintain permanent personnel records.
Responsible for new-hire orientation, benefits, labor relations, risk management and safety programs.
Responsible for unemployment claims and appeals.
Ensure that OSHA log is up to date.
Participate in Safety Committee meetings.
Administer and monitor performance appraisal programs.
Monitor workers' compensation claims and coordinate work between Associates and insurance carrier.
Administration of company's retirement plans and benefits packages.
Maintain professional relationships with senior management, department heads, and associates through oral and written communication.
Provide direction and prepare annual strategic plan for human resource activities.
Maintain and prepare personnel forecast needs.
Ensure proper maintenance of associate records, files, legal documents and HRIS efficiently and in a confidential manner.
Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
Study legislation and arbitration decisions to assess industry trends.
Direct training and quality programs to ensure strategic deployment of human resources.
Assist in formulating budgets for Associate Relations, Staff Training and Recruitment Advertising as well as wages and benefits for Human Resources staff for budgeted time frame. Manage expenses and execute flex financial management when necessary. Assist in developing staffing guidelines to maintain budgeted margins for labor cost.
Maintain and create positive atmosphere within the Resorts that allow for open two-way communication that ensure positive associate morale and productivity, ensuring that all matters and concerns are addressed in a timely and confidential manner.
Maintain uniform processed and inventory.
Supervise and mentor Training Managers and Human Resources personnel.
Maintain open line of communication with Corporate HR office and Resort General Manager. Competencies
Must be able to write, read, and speak English as a first language. Bi-lingual skills are helpful but not required.
Requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
Must work well in stressful, high pressure situations.
Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems exercising good judgment.

Must be able to maintain confidential information.

Organizational skills with strong attention to detail
Knowledge of Recruitment Management ATS system is helpful. Supervisory Responsibility Supervises HR Office personnel, including Resort Hiring Manager and Training Manager. Work Environment This job operates in an office environment, with moderate noise levels. Physical Demands The Associate is required to constantly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. Constantly required reach and grasp. The Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is an exempt level position, with various work hours and days, based on business needs. This position rarely requires evening, weekend and holiday work. Some weekend work might be required. Some travel is to be expected. Preferred Education and Experience 4-year College degree in Human Resources Management; OR 4 years managerial and supervisory experience in public or private personnel manager; OR bachelor's degree in personnel management, public administration, psychology, or education; and 3 years general experience in the HR field. 3 years experience as a Human Resources Director; OR at least 5 years as a Human Resource Manager, preferably with a large Resort/Hotel and Convention Center.
