an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN), you will
conduct initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, develop a
family-centered patient care plan, and identify and correct
variances from the patient care path. You will also be responsible
for discharge planning.
- You will assess and evaluate patient needs
- You will provide health are teaching, as well as psychological
and social support to the patient and their families
- You will ensure that all physician orders for patients are
noted and correctly transcribed
- You will keep the physician, Emergency Department (ED)
Director, Manager, Supervisor, and/or Charge Nurse aware of
significant information regarding the patient and their family
- You will facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning by
identifying needs, assisting with discharge teaching, and
coordinating families and other servicesJob RequirementsExperience
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse
(RN)Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing
program
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - preferredLicenses and
Certification
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact
Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must
be obtained within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's
Healthcare policy
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) OR Advanced Life
Support (ALS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
within 6 months of hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) OR Emergency Nursing
Pediatric Course (ENCP) certification per St. David's Healthcare
policy required within 12 months of hire
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification per St. David's
Healthcare policy required within 12 months of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 6 months of

center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a
24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and
