Job Summary and Qualifications This position, under the Director of Clinical Operations, appropriately coordinates and supervises patient care as provided by the patient care team. RN will report to the House Supervisors daily to prioritize areas of focus. This care includes conducting initial admission history, complete entire discharge process to include all paperwork and patient exit. Assist with intravenous insertions, transfers between units, assist appropriate areas with discharge phone calls, development of a family centered patient care plans and care path, family centered patient teaching, the identification of and correction of variances from the patient care path and the facilitation of discharge planning.
    • Communication with physicians, staff, patients and families regarding patient disposition.
    • Admits, Discharges or Transfers patients under the direction of the house supervisor with the goal of improving ED throughput.
    • Communicate patient status to the unit supervisor of the receiving unit.
    • Participate in daily bed-briefing meetings
    • Communicate with House Supervisor (HS) and Throughput Coordinator during periods of serious bed shortage.
    • Round on patient units to manually monitor bed availability Requirements Experience
      • Graduation from a NLN accredited school of nursing. Two years of Med/Surg nursing experience; familiar with cardiac rhythms- Required Education
        • Associate Degree in Nursing
        • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - preferred License and Certifications
          • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
          • Basic Life Support (BLS) required as per St. David s Healthcare policy Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - Required
            This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved). St. David s Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David s Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women s services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.
