RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform spays/neuters, vaccinations, wellness exams, and manage a wide range of medical conditions. You will be expected to provide both routine and emergency care, demonstrating proficiency in surgical procedures and diagnostics.
• Work closely with our shelter team to implement comprehensive health and wellness programs, including disease prevention, parasite control, nutrition, and stress management. Your expertise will be pivotal in maintaining a healthy shelter environment.
• Collaborate with a team of passionate veterinary professionals, sharing knowledge and practices. You will also engage in community outreach and education, advocating for animal health, welfare, and responsible pet ownership.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new protocols and best practices in veterinary care and shelter management.
• Work a Combination of week and weekend days for a total of 40-50 hours a week.
  QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM, VMD) or equivalent degree, licensed to practice in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in veterinary medicine, with a strong preference for experience in shelter medicine or high-volume spay/neuter clinics.
  • Demonstrated surgical skills and proficiency in a variety of medical treatments.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
  • Deep commitment to the no-kill philosophy and a passion for animal welfare.
