An opportunity is available for a registered nurse experienced in operating room procedures, located in the San Antonio, TX area. This contract position supports surgical services in a facility equipped with five operating rooms and a dedicated team including full-time and part-time nursing staff and surgical technicians. Key responsibilities include serving as an OR circulator during surgeries, ensuring patient safety and effective coordination of surgical procedures. The role requires participation in a rotating call schedule, covering evenings and weekends to provide essential support when needed. Qualifications and Desired Experience: - Current RN licensure with proven operating room circulation expertise - Valid BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory - Ability to fulfill a rotating call schedule (minimum one weeknight per week and one weekend every five weeks) - Preferred experience in orthopedic, general, gynecology, robotics, urology, vascular, cardiovascular, neuro, and thoracic surgeries - Adaptable, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset Responsibilities: - Facilitate surgical procedures by managing equipment and patient care in the OR - Collaborate with surgical teams to maintain optimal patient outcomes with 1:1 patient ratios - Utilize basic OR equipment, including cautery devices, video monitors, and positioning apparatus - Follow facility EMR system protocols to ensure accurate and timely documentation Schedule and Hours: - Rotating call schedule including one night per week and one weekend shift every five weeks - Primarily assigned to surgery floor with a supportive multidisciplinary team Location Insights:Situated in San Antonio, this role benefits from the city's vibrant culture and diverse communities.
