Veterinarian (DVM) A Different Way to Practice Veterinary Medicine
If you’ve ever thought, “I love medicine, but not the pace,
pressure, or chaos that comes with most veterinary roles,” keep
reading. Sage Veterinary Imaging is not a general practice. We are
not an ER. We don’t do wellness, vaccines, or high-volume
appointments. Many of our doctors say the same thing after joining:
“I didn’t realize veterinary medicine could look like this.” We
exist for one reason: to provide clear diagnostic answers that help
pets get the right care faster. Sage Veterinary Imaging is seeking
a veterinarian to help lead our diagnostic imaging service in Round
Rock, Texas. This is a non-specialist position. We want a
veterinarian with excellent patient exam, assessment, and
anesthesia skills to guide patients through the diagnostic imaging
procedures. This role is ideal for a general practice or emergency
veterinarian who enjoys diagnostics, values safe anesthesia, is an
excellent communicator, and wants a calmer, more intentional way to
practice medicine. Sage Veterinary Imaging uses advanced,
human-quality imaging technologies in 3T MRI, 128 slice CT, X-ray,
and ultrasound. Coupled with our same-day digital cytology lab, we
ensure optimal diagnostic accuracy, which allows our referring
veterinarians to plan the most effective treatments. Why This Role
Is Different Most veterinarians don’t learn about roles like this
in school. At Sage, you’re not rushing room to room. You’re not
balancing production metrics. You’re not managing wellness
schedules or emergency triage. Instead, you’re part of a focused
specialty team where: Cases are referred with intent Medicine is
collaborative and deliberate Technology supports clarity and
efficiency Your role contributes directly to better outcomes —
without burnout Here’s How We Operate We elevate patient care by
delivering definitive answers for pets, their owners, and referring
veterinarians. We are a referral-based practice and perform imaging
procedures to support and preserve the bond of the referring
veterinarian (rDVM) and pet owner. Our process is simple. First,
the patient is referred to us after the rDVM determines a need for
imaging. Next, we evaluate the case, examine the patient, and
perform appropriate imaging and additional diagnostics under the
guidance of veterinary radiologists. Finally, we communicate the
results to the pet owner and veterinarian for next steps and
treatment. If needed, we may assist with finding an appropriate
specialist for next steps of care in critical cases. Just curious
to see if you’re a good fit with our organization, AND discover
something about your traits and job alignment? Take our FREE, five
minute Culture Index Survey. Culture Index Surveys measure innate
personality traits and work drives to assess how well an
individual’s natural tendencies align with specific job
requirements and organizational culture. We will email your results
to you regardless! Why You’ll Love Working Here 1. Be Part of
Something Bigger: You’ll work with radiologists and specialists,
participate in real-time case collaboration, and practice medicine
in an environment built for teaching, precision, and innovation. 2.
Do the Best Medicine of Your Career: Our advanced imaging
technology and protocols allow you to practice predictable, safe,
anesthesia-supported diagnostics without the chaos of general
practice or ER unpredictability. 3. Work With a Team That Truly
Cares: We foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture where
humility, curiosity, compassion, and teamwork are at the heart of
everything we do. 4. Designed for Work-Life Balance: Daytime hours.
No overnights. No major holidays. Predictable scheduling so you can
enjoy life outside the clinic. The Role: What You’ll Do You will
serve as a key medical leader within our established, state of the
art, Round Rock, Texas Imaging center. Your focus is on supporting
diagnostic imaging cases, ensuring patient safety, clinical
clarity, and seamless collaboration across the team. Rather than
list bullet points here, we prefer to walk candidates through what
a typical day looks like during a conversation because this role
doesn’t fit neatly into a traditional job description. At SVI, we
are passionate about building and sustaining a diverse, equitable,
and inclusive working environment for all students and staff. We
encourage people from all backgrounds and experiences to join our
team. This is a Great Fit For: DVMs who enjoy diagnostics,
problem-solving, and case-based medicine Doctors coming from GP or
ER who want a more focused environment Veterinarians interested in
imaging, specialty medicine, or referral work Clinicians looking
for stability, collaboration, and a calmer pace Doctors who value
