Job Description:

Sysco is seeking experienced CDLA Shuttle Drivers to join our team, facilitating the distribution of our globally sourced food products to a diverse array of clients, including restaurants and educational facilities. This role is critical in maintaining our promise of delivering excellence and efficiency. As a CDLA Shuttle Driver, you will be responsible for safe and timely transportation of goods, ensuring that all shipments reach their destinations according to schedule, while adhering to all safety regulations and company standards. Operate a tractor trailer to move freight between locations. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Report defects, accidents or violations. Proven work experience as a truck driver with a CDL A license. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.). Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.).
