BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Provide leadership in the administration of employee benefits program for the District including coordination with providers to ensure efficient delivery of services. Develop and recommend strategies for benefits and leave of absence programs, through the use of technology, including preparing, analyzing communication campaigns, and providing education to employees on preventative, wellness, leave and insurance plan coverage.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Provide guidance and direction to assigned staff. KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS & ABILITIES: --- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and policies relating to human resources, benefits, and leaves. --- Knowledge of administration of employee benefits programs and reviewing trends. Knowledge of interviewing and advising techniques. --- Knowledge of acceptable supervisory practices --- Skill in applying policies and procedures to District payroll systems. --- Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing. --- Skill in handling hostile, conflict, and uncertain situations. --- Skill in operating standard computer and software applications, including but not limited to electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations. --- Skill in making group presentations. --- Skill in compiling information into reports. --- Skill in coordinating the collaborations of assigned vertical and horizontal systems to support high student achievement and customer satisfaction. --- Skill in interpreting and disseminating insurance and benefits information. --- Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records. --- Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities and delegate appropriate departmental tasks effectively. --- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS: --- Maintain emotional control under stress. --- Work with frequent interruptions. --- Travel district wide occasionally. --- Work extended and irregular hours. --- Sit for extended periods of time. --- Use computer for prolonged period resulting in repetitive hand motions. --- Lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: --- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $59,695.64 - $71,922.24 per year
