We are looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse like you
to be a part of our team.
This position, under the supervision of the ED Director,
Manager, Supervisor and/or Charge Nurse, appropriately coordinates
and supervises patient care as provided by the patient care team.
This care includes conducting initial and ongoing assessment
of the patient and family, development of a family centered patient
care plan and care path, family centered patient teaching, the
identification of and correction of variances from the patient care
path and the facilitation of discharge planning.
1. Unit Operations: Maintains productivity by the flexible and
efficient organization of patient care assignments and other duties
including prioritizing and creatively problem solving to meet
changing departmental and patient needs.
Independently assesses and evaluates patient needs.
Provides psychological and social support to the patient and

3. Patient Care: Responds to the developmental needs of the
patient and family by demonstrating basic knowledge of patient

The St. David?s Emergency Center in Cedar Park is a full-service
freestanding emergency department that does not have attached
inpatient facilities. This ED serves as an extension of a St.
David?s Round Rock Medical Center. Patients requiring inpatient
care will be transported from the freestanding ED to SDRRMC. The ED
operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The St. David?s Emergency Center in Cedar Park features 12
multipurpose exam rooms (one of which is a trauma room); a CT
scanner, a diagnostic radiology machine, ultrasound, and its own
stat lab for on sight immediate results. The center is staffed by
board-certified physicians affiliated with St. David?s HealthCare
as well as trauma-certified nurses. The onsite medical team is able
to treat all urgent and emergent medical conditions such as heart
attacks, strokes, head and spine injuries, respiratory distress,
abdominal pain, dehydration, orthopedic injuries, sports injuries
and lacerations that require sutures.

Education and Experience:
Graduation from a NLN accredited school of nursing required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
Minimum of 1 year Registered Nurse experience within an acute
care setting required
At least 2 years Registered Nurse experience within an emergency
License and Certifications:
Licensed in the state of Texas as an RN or hold eligible Compact
License to practice as an RN in the state of Texas required.
If Compact, a Texas license is required within 90 days of hire.
Current BLS certification required
ACLS required within 6 months of hire
TNCC required within 12 months or hire
PALS or ENPC required within 12 months of hire
