Develop and deliver personal training and/or group exercise
classes while maintaining safety of participants. Work is performed
under general supervision with exercise of judgment in accordance
with established policies, procedures and techniques.
Hours for this position: Wednesdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m.
Additional hours may be required depending on business needs
Examples of Duties
Develops, directs and delivers fitness instruction to
Plans and modifies session content and method of presentation or
accommodate individuals with a variety of disabilities.
Provides effective coaching techniques and individual
instruction to participants.
Communicates effectively with Recreation Program Coordinator to
meet program goals.
Assists in facility setup/clean up; reports maintenance
Ensures safe and proper use of equipment and materials
Creates a learning environment that promotes sportsmanship and
Ability to instruct group exercise classes and/or personal train
Versatile trainer/instructor with ability to work with all
Experience and Training
High School diploma or GEDequivalent
One year of related work experience.
Responsible for supervision of 15 - 35 participants
Experience working with a wide variety of fitness levels and
ages is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses Required
Currently nationally recognized certifications in Personal
Trainingand/or Group Exercise.
Certifications accepted are ACE, ACSM, AEA, NASM, AFAA, ISSA,
NSCA and Cooper's.
Other certifications may be accepted.
