Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Bed Management Coordinator
(BMC), you will coordinate the assignment of patient care beds
within the hospital.The BMC collaborates with multiple departments
within the hospital and facilitates regularly scheduled bed
management meetings with hospital staff to identify and communicate
bed utilization issues.The BMC will identify, trend, and report
barriers to patient throughput.
·You will evaluate and
implement patient flow to ensure maximization of hospital
·You will evaluate, monitor,
and improve the patient flow program effectiveness as it relates to
utilization review, resource management, and discharge planning and
·You will manage Patient Flow
department to include development of proper staffing levels,
management of expenses in line with budgeted expectations,
development of appropriate departmental policies and hospital

·5 years of nursing experience
in an acute care setting – required
·Customer experience -
·Experience in bed management -
·Bachelor of Science in Nursing
(BSN) – required
·Current State of Texas
Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing
License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within
90 days of hire
·Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required per St. David’s Healthcare policy
·National Specialty Certification -
