Job Description:
1. - - - - - -Reports directly to Superintendent responsible for
the specific project assigned.
2. - - - - - -Has a subordinate relationship with the VP of
Operations.
3. - - - - - -Has a working relationship with other Assistant
Superintendent(s), Job Clerks, all other SLC field personnel, SLC
Safety/QC Director, SLC CFO and his/her staff, Project Mangers,
Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project
Management Assistants.
4. - - - - - -Assists Superintendent with training field personnel
as directed.
5. - - - - - -Assists with coordination and oversight of projects
including budgetary considerations for labor, material, and
equipment.
6. - - - - - -Assists with coordinating the work of subcontractors.
Maintains a positive relationship with same.
7. - - - - - -Assists with maintaining the global project schedule
and timely completion of the Work.
8. - - - - - -Assists with creating and maintaining a more focused
and detailed onsite use project schedule structured to a minimum of
two weeks and no more than six weeks look ahead.
9. - - - - - -Assists with purchasing of supplies, materials, new
and leased equipment as directed.
10. - - -Assists with scheduling all deliveries of major project
materials & purchases and the proper inventory control of the same
including material check-in (proper quantities/quality, lumber
log), proper accounting record maintenance/distribution (delivery
tickets, customer invoices/PO's).
11. - - -Assists with reviewing and approving all sub-contractor
payment applications and material invoices.
12. - - -Assists with management of project data and information in
Procore by maintaining, updating, and distributing where
appropriate all project related documents including construction
plans & specifications, permits, schedules, daily reports, lumber
logs, quality control inspections, meeting agendas, meeting
minutes, incidents, observations, photos, punch lists, SLC field
manuals, SLC Employee Handbook, federal & state postings, and any
other documents as directed. Assists with documenting all field
correspondence with architects, engineers, owners, subcontractors
and material vendors.
13. - - -Assists with implementing SLC quality standards including,
but not limited to, adherence to plans & specifications, site
cleanliness, SLC personnel appearance and proper maintenance of all
SLC owned and leased equipment.
14. - - -Assists with planning/conducting weekly subcontractor
progress meetings and attends project manager meetings as
directed.
15. - - -Assists with maintaining the overall safety of the
project.
16. - - -Assists with review of third-party reports, such as those
issued by Geotechnical Firms, Engineers, Architects, Testing
Agencies, Waterproofing Consultants, Safety Consultants, etc., and
facilitation of corrective action required by Shreve Land or its
Subcontractors.
17. - - -Maintains a positive relationship with owners, owner
representatives, architects, engineers, and other consultants.
18. - - -Assists with Lean Construction implementation including
Daily Huddles, Weekly Work Planning, and Phase Planning.
19. - - -Maintains an attitude of respect for people, respect for
resources, stable environments, waste reduction, and continuous
improvement in the performance of job duties.
Supervisory Responsibility - Assist the SLC Project Superintendent
with oversight of the Trades, craft workers, and laborers
Work Environment -Works on a construction jobsite. -Uses standard
office equipment such as phones, tablets, computers, copiers, fax
machines.
Physical Demands - Moderate physical demand as dictated by
construction job site
Travel - some amount expected.
Education and Experience
High School or equivalent
5+ years of progressively responsible construction experience, some
as Asst. Superintendent
