Description
: Under general supervision, the Field Laboratory Technician collects, preserves and prepares water, wastewater, industrial and environmental samples for analysis and /or shipping, inspect restaurants and similar commercial business, issues field violations for non-compliance and assists in recycling and household hazardous waste programs.
*Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.*

Examples of Duties
: Collects water, wastewater, industrial and environmental samples using automatic samplers or grab sample techniques in accordance with established standard operating procedures.



Assists in identifying sampling locations for the Surcharge program.



Calibrates, maintains and troubleshoots field sampling equipment.



Performs general laboratory and field analysis of water/wastewater samples.



Assists with Household Hazardous Waste Program unloading of hazardous materials.\
Experience and Training
: High School Diploma or equivalent



Six (6) months of related water, wastewater or environmental field experience
Certificates and Licenses Required
: Ability to obtain Class D Water license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within six (6) months of hire.



Ability to obtain Class D Wastewater license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within one (1) year of hire.
