With each opportunity, we take a collaborative approach to address challenges and provide unique solutions.Position Overview:The Head of Sales and Business Development is a key leadership role responsible for driving the development, and oversight, of the sales efforts of the organization. The individual will be responsible for creating, and executing on, sales strategies necessary to achieve revenue targets for new product sales, with an emphasis on life insurance and long-term care products for the company's New Business and TPA divisions. This individual will be responsible for establishing relationships with distribution, and potential TPA, clients and partnering with internal product development teams to ensure alignment. As a result of driving revenue growth and expanding Continental General's market presence, the responsibilities of this position may be expanded to include building a team to support sales channels in line with meeting strategic growth objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to develop and promote new products and sales initiatives.
  • Provide strategic insight to help drive market share of TPA solutions offering.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and review sales materials that resonate withthe designated target audiences.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with distributors, potential clients, and internal teams.
  • Monitor and analyze data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement including multi-channel sales approach (online, in person, etc.).
  • Initiate and coordinate sales promotion activities where appropriate to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
  • Stay current on industry development, trends, and competitor intelligence.
  • Listen carefully to prospects and clients to provide feedback to the Product team and help prioritize functionality needed to drive sales opportunities.
  • Partner with operations teams to ensure SLA requirements are understood and met.
  • After reasonable initial channel development has been achieved, identify and develop talented team structure to support and drive continued revenue growth.
  • Comfortable with the opportunity to be part of the development of new strategic growth models.
  • Available to travel as needed to support.
  • Other duties as needed to support the sales growth model.Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience and education required.
    • Proven business leader with 10+ years' experience in sales leadership including sales forecasting, product development, budget management, and people development.
    • Strong sales background and experience leading and motivating sales teams.
    • Significant experience in the insurance industry with multiple product lines,with preference to life insurance and/or long-term care sales.
    • Experience working directly with or for a third-party administrator (TPA) is beneficial.
    • Experience working with the independent (IMO/NMO) distribution.
    • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence others.
    • Experience working with marketing teams.
    • Strong organizational and executive presentation skills.
    • Self-starter willing to be part of the development process for new sales ventures.
    • Effective time management skills.
    • Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
    • Strong business acumen.
    • Professional and confident communicator and presenter.
    • Must be an analytical and strategic, out of the box, thinker who is willing and able to be hands-on with the team and projects.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
